The 1st Spartan Ownership 21 Day Challenge is finally complete! It was an amazing experience for the guys who agreed to be challenged and for me as-well. It was effective due to 3 reasons a) I personally held them accountable for their actions and contacted them when I felt that they were slacking b) I had a chance to personally interact with these awesome guys for 3 weeks on a daily basis c) There was a community effect and we were all interacting keeping each other in check.
Above all, It was an eye-opening experience. It felt great to be connecting on a daily basis with men who shared a drive to truly challenge themselves. It gives me hope that men are seeing the value in forsaking mediocre lives and instead embracing a life full of challenge and discomfort to ultimately grow and become the men they want to be.
Everyone wants to be a Navy Seal friday night at the bar but nobody wants to be a Navy Seal Monday morning – Marc Owen (Navy Seal)
A lot of guys joined the Spartan Ownership FB group (where the challenges are disclosed and checked on) in the beginning. However, only about 1/3rd of the men actually made it through the first 2 days. And it wasn’t because the challenge was hard either. Guys just get emotionally hyped up when they listen to my video introducing the challenge. However, their emotions aren’t as high when reality kicks in and it’s time for action. A big part of this challenge was about commitment. Something that is truly lacking in men.
The unique thing about the S.O challenge is that I don’t just challenge you physically. I challenge you mentally, spiritually and relationship-wise as-well! I make you come to terms with the difficult things in life such as your death. I also challenge you to analyse your peer group with specific questions tailored to get you thinking about the people in your circle that are making you evolve Vs. the people in your circle that are making you degenerate.
Here is an example of some of the exercises:
Day 8: (Influential peers vs. vampires) Write down the top 5 people in your peer group. Write down their names. Then write down 3 Pros and Cons for each. Analyse them. At this point, you may want to eliminate one person from spending too much time with you.
Day 13: (physical discomfort) 200 pushups + 45 min meditation. (for those that can’t do push ups due to physical injury: 1h30 meditation).
Day 17: (social assertiveness) Go upto 3 people of the opposite sex and tell them that you find them attractive. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a relationship or not. This is about asserting yourself in a social situation.
Once again notice how these challenges encompass the different areas of life. Spartan Ownership is about taking 100% responsibility for ALL areas of your life. My philosophy is that you don’t leave anything to chance. Spartan Ownership is about mastery. Mastery over your health, your wealth, your relationships, and your happiness.
The Spartans were ruthless in how they trained and there’s a reason we still talk about them today. Well, that’s my vision for you. I want you to be ruthless in how you take responsibility for your life. If something isn’t going right, it’s up to you to fix it. If you can’t change something because it’s outside of your control, then take responsibility by moving on and not wasting any more time on the issue. The point is that you’re never stuck in a mental position where you’re complaining and blaming the outside world for your circumstances because in the real world, crying for mommy won’t get you anywhere other than a few FB likes from equally weak peers.
After the challenge was finished, the guys were eager for a new challenge and were asking me questions like “How long will the next one be?”, “Can you make the physical training component tougher?” , “How about a diet component?”. I was glad to hear guys asking for more difficulty as opposed to easier challenges because it shows just how eager men are to evolve and just how fucking tired they are of today’s weak cultural mentality. The Spartans faced trials and pressure most of us will never experience yet they were flesh and blood beings just like us. It just goes to show that we are always capable of doing more than we think we can and that we are probably only reaching 1/20th of our true potential.
I’m so fired up that I’m already dreaming up new potential training plans for the next challenge. Each challenge can only get better, more intense and more life-changing as I learn from the previous ones. If you are interested in signing up for the next challenge, it’s 100% FREE and you get a Free S.O t-shirt at the end as long as you post proof of challenge completion. Filled with challenges of self-reflection and tough physical obstacles, it is a good program for uncovering your inner warrior.” – B.N
“The ownership challenge set me up to become accountable to the group, but mostly to myself. It taught me about honor, honesty and how fun it can be to break out of my comfort zone.” – M.R
